Danish actor Ole Thestrup passes away

The Danish actor Ole Thestrup has passed away on Friday the 2nd of February 2018. He was 69 years old and was diagnosed with an aggressive form of lung cancer in spring 2017.

Ole Thestrup is best known to international audiences for his role in the Danish political series Borgen.

Ole Thestrup was known for his role in a number of Danish black comedies. His most recent film was Small Time Killers (2017).

Small Town Killers (2017)

The two tradesmen Ib and Edward are tired of their lifeless marriages and dream of living the good life from the stash of money they’ve earned moonlighting for years. After a huge fight with their wives the two men get drunk and hire a Russian contract killer to do a hit on their spouses. But they have badly underestimated their wives, and this becomes the start of an absurd journey where Ib and Edward to their own horror end at the top of a kill list.

The Green Butchers (2003)

Svend and Bjarne work for a butcher in a small Danish town. Fed up with their boss’ arrogance, they decide to start their own butcher shop. In the meantime, Bjarne has to deal with his twin brother who has been in coma for years following a gruesome car accident.

Flickering Lights (2000)

Four small-time gangsters from Copenhagen trick a gangster boss: they take over 4,000,000 kroner which they were supposed to bring him. Trying to escape to Barcelona they are forced to stop in the countryside, in an old, wrecked house, hiding there for several weeks. Slowly, one after another, they realize, that they would like to stay there, starting a new life, renovating the house and forming it into a restaurant. But they can’t avoid being caught up by their past.
