Danish actor Johannes Lassen wins Nymphe D’Or for Best Actor

The Danish actor Johannes Lassen has won the Nymphe d’Or for Best Actor at the Television Festival in Monte Carlo.

Lassen won for his role in the hostage drama Below the Surface, which follows a hostage situation in the Copenhagen Metro. Lassen’s character Philip Norgaard is the leader of the terror taskforce. He was up against Ioan Gruffudd (Liar), Billy Campbell (Cardinal) and Charles Berling (The Frozen Dead).

The Nymphe d’Or is one of the most prestigious awards for international television production.

A second season of Below the Surface is in development.
