Two of the most anticipated Danish TV drama productions and co-productions – The Team (pictured) and 1864 are going to be discussed during the two-day Danish TV industry gathering Copenhagen TV Festival unspooling this Thursday and Friday in the Danish capital. Both drama series are supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
Peter Nadermann, German executive producer of The Team (8×58’) will detail the development process of the European crime series with The Team co-creator Mai Brostrøm, concept director Kathrine Windfeld, producer Stinna Lassen and one of the main actors Lars Mikkelsen. According to co-producer Thomas Heinesen (Nordisk Film Production), the series is set to air almost simultaneously in February 2015 on partner channels ZDF, DR SVT, ORF and Arte among others.
Meanwhile DR’s Head of Drama Piv Bernth will introduce with Miso Film producer Jonas Allen the first episode of the flagship war and love drama 1864 set to premiere on DR in September.
Other key speakers at Copenhagen TV Festival include Allison Wallach, US agent with United Talent Agency who will tell Nordic producers all about ‘The Opportunities and pitfalls on the US market’. The event closes on Friday with the TV awards ceremony ‘TV Prisen’. Vying for Best TV drama are Arvingerne, Badehotellet, The Bridge Season 2, Heartless, Rita Season 2 and the Christmas calendar Tvillingerne og Julemanden. The Act of Killing is vying for Best Documentary among six candidates.
