Claes Bang to star in new thriller ‘The Bay of Silence’

The Danish actor Claes Bang will star in a new thriller titled The Bay of Silence.

The Bay of Silence is about a man who embarks on a frantic search across Europe after his family goes missing. Will believes his wife Rosalind is innocent of their son’s suspected murder, only to discover the devastating truth behind her past links her to another unsolved crime. Caroline Goodall adapted the screenplay from Lisa St Aubin de Teran’s novel.

The cast includes Olga Kurylenko and Brian Box. The film will be directed by Paula Van Der Oest after the cast and financiers were changed and a new production schedule announced.

International Film Trust has sold the film to the Middle East, Spain, China, Poland and Israel. Previous rights have been sold to Turkey, Greece, Hungary, former-Yugoslavia, India, Philippines and South Korea. The US rights are handled by UTA Independent Film Group.

Shooting will commence on the 11th of July in the UK, Italy and the Netherlands.


Claes Bang has found international success and interest after this breakthrough in the Palme d’Or-winning The Square. He has been confirmed for The Girl in the Spiders Web and a number of European and US films. including Lyrebird and The Burnt Orange Heresy.
