‘Before the Frost’ selected for Rome Film Fest 2018

The new Danish film Before the Frost has been selected to screen at the Rome Film Fest 2018.

Directed by Michael Noer, the period drama is set in 1850’s Denmark and follows a farmer and his family, who face starvation. If the family is to survive, the farmer must settle an agreement with the wealthy farmer at a nearby farm and forsake his own moral and the most precious thing he owns in order to secure his family a better life.

Jesper Christensen stars as the farmer. We recognise Christensen from Melancholia (2011), The Legacy (2014-2017), and The King’s Choice (2016). Internationally, Christensen played Mr. White in the James Bond franchise.

The upcoming The Girl in the Spider’s Web film has also been selected to screen at Rome Film Fest. The film is an adaptation from the Millennium series, and stars Swedish/Icelandic actor Sverrir Gudnason, Danish actor Claes Bang, and English actress Claire Foy.

We have posted a Q&A with the cast and crew of Before the Frost from the Toronto International Film Festival below, as well as the trailer for The Girl in the Spider’s Web
