Baltasar Kormakur joins Universal’s Vikingr

The Icelandic filmmaker’s latest venture with Universal will be based on tales of Nordic settlers and life in the Viking age.

Kormakur wrote the story and the script along with Olafur Egill Egilsson.

Kormakur produces through his RVK Studios alongside Marc Platt Productions’ Marc Platt and Adam Siegel, Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner and Nathalie Marciano.

Universal and Kormakur began his relationship with Universal on the 2012 action drama Contraband and has since made 2 Guns and the upcoming thriller Everest.
