Ane Dahl Torp and footballer lead new NRK TV series

In television land, a former premier league champion and Norwegian actress Ane Dahl Torp are set to star in NRK’s new premium drama, Home Ground (Hjemmebane).

Ane Dahl Torp plays Helena Mikkelsen, who becomes the first female Norwegian Premiere League football manager in Norway’s history. The series follows her through the football season as she struggles to win the respect of players who don’t believe in her, supporters who don’t like her, and a club who may fire her at any moment. On the home front, she is on the verge of losing contact with her own daughter. John Carew plays a football who returns home to Norway to end his career.

The 10×45′ drama is produced by Motlys for NRK. Newcomer Johan Fasting is creator and head-writer. Directors include Arild Andresen (The Orheim Company), Cecilie Mosli (Eyewitness), Stian Kristiansen (The Man Who Loved Yngve), Yngvild Sve Flikke (Women in Oversized Men’s Shirts) and Eirik Svensson (Young & Promising).

The NOK 70 million TV series (almost $10 million USD) will start filming in March, until October 2017. The premiere on NRK on set for January 2018.
