Anders Danielsen Lie joins the cast of ‘Bergman Island’

The Norwegian actor Anders Danielsen Lie has joined the cast of Bergman Island, which is being directed by Mia Hansen-Løve.

The film is set on the island of Fårö, where Ingmar Bergman lived and filmed his movies, and will follow Tony and Chris. They are both filmmakers and head to the island to take part in Bergman Week, an annual celebration of the Swedish filmmaker. During the week they also plan to complete the writing of their movie, but over the course of the summer their relationship starts to fissure as the frontier separating their life and the fiction they are writing starts to blur.

The cast also includes Greta Gerwig, John Turturro and Mia Wasikowska.

Danielsen Lie is currently working on Norway, which will depict the Norwegian terrorist attack of 2011. He will play the terrorist Anders Breivik, and the film is directed by Paul Greengrass.

Bergman Island is currently in pre-production.

We know Anders Danielsen Lie best from Joachim Trier’s Oslo, 31 August as well as the Norwegian political series Nobel. He also occasionally works in French cinema.
