Anders Baasmo Christiansen to star in THE STORY OF MY WIFE

The Norwegian actor Anders Baasmo Christiansen will star in the love story The Story of My Wife alongside French actress Lea Seydoux, the Hollywood Reporter reports.

Seydoux and Christiansen will play a married couple, and the story is adapted from the novel of the same name by Hungarian poet and writer Milan Fust. The story, which is a variation of the Flying Dutchman set in the 1920s, has sea captain Jacob Storr (Christiansen) make a bet with a friend that he will marry the first woman who enters the cafe they are in, and Lizzy (Seydoux) walks in.

The novel was published in Hungary in 1942, but was translated into English in the late 1980s, where it was discovered and became a literary hit.

The Story of My Wife is directed by the Hungarian Ildiko Enyedi. Shooting on The Story of My Wife is set to begin next year in Paris, Hamburg, Budapest and the South of Italy.
