Anders Baasmo Christiansen King Of Norwegian TV Drama

The best Norwegian TV dramas since 2000 are Norwegian Cosy followed by Dag according to a recent poll conducted by NRK’s programmes Filmbonanza and Filmpolitiet. Actor Anders Baasmo Christiansen had a starring role in both shows broadcast late 2010.

Norwegian Cosy produced by Tordenfilm with support from Nordisk Film & TV Fond was chosen among 85 Norwegian shows. The series written and directed by Thomas Seeberg Torjussen for NRK won four ‘Gullruten’ Norwegian TV awards in 2011 and actress Stein Winge was Emmy nominated for her role in the series.

Dag was voted second best Norwegian TV series since 2000 by a jury of experts and number one by the audience. The dark comedy written by Øystein Karlsen and Kristoffer Schau for Kamerakameratene was aired on TV2 in the autumn 2010 and another two seasons featuring Atle Antonsen as the misanthropist marriage counsellor Dag, aired in 2011 and early 2013. Producer Anders Tangen said: We have season 4 and 5 ready if TV2 Norway wants more. We are working hard to get Dag out in the world and hopefully we will have some good news to announce soon”. Tangen is also producer of Lilyhammer, voted third Best Norwegian TV drama since 2000 by the audience. The third season of the Netflix/NRK series will finished shooting in June and is scheduled to premiere in the autumn.
