Amazon picks up TV Crime Series From Nicolas Winding Refn

Amazon has picked up a television series that will be produced, directed and written by Danish director, Nicolas Winding Refn.

Refn, who is famous in Denmark for the Pusher trilogy and famous abroad for Drive and The Neon Demon, has written the series in a similar tone to his early Danish work. The series, titled Too Old to Die Young, explores the criminal underbelly of Los Angeles. It’s rumoured to explore a similar theme as that with Pusher, where we closely follow the breakdown of the main characters.

Refn serves as co-writer with Ed Brubaker, and will also direct and produce the series.

Amazon previously released Refn’s The Neon Demon.

Too Old to Die Young will shoot this autumn in Los Angeles.
