A MAN CALLED OVE proves successful in the US

Sweden’s Oscar entry, A Man Called Ovehas become one of the most successful Swedish films on the American market with more than $800,000 USA in box office revenue since the US premiere four weeks ago.

The film premiered in the US at the end of September and if sales continue at that rate, it will become the top arthouse foreign language film of 2016. The film also won the Audience Award in the World Cinema section at the Mill Valley Film Festival in California.

Furthermore European Film Awards, which takes place on 10 December in Poland, has nominated A Man Called Ove for the award European Comedy. Last year Swedish director Roy Andersson picked up an award in that same category with the film A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence.
