2016 is a record opening for Norwegian cinema

2016 has proven to be a record opening year for Norwegian cinema, with 2.5 million tickets sold in the first two months – plus the second best result for local films. This is 17.9% up from the previous year.

Local films accounted for 669,221 of those tickets, only exceeded by 2009 when Max Manus dominated the charts.
