SF Studios is not off to the best of starts – just recently Svensk Filmindustri rebranded to SF Studios in hopes of pulling in larger productions, and shortly after Hannes Holm spoke out against the misallocation of the budget during his A Man Called Ove. Jonas Fors of SF Studios, formerly known as Svensk Filmindustri, has been removed from the post of CEO following allegations that the company is guilty of sexism and lavish corporate spending.
After the comments made from Hannes Holm in which he would rather ‘work for Donald Duck’, there were further allegations directed at SF Studios including the mass defection of women from the company, criticism of a sexist culture, and lavish spending at Cannes – including the rental of a luxury yacht, which is alleged to be partly owned by chairman Mikael Lövgren.
Frida Westerberg, deputy CEO and chief operating officer, has taken over as acting CEO of the company.
