The second season of Jordskott has been teased all year, and now the television series has an official release date.

According to the Swedish website Expressen, the second season will hit Swedish screens on 15th October.

In series one, police investigator Eva Thörnblad (Moa Gammel) is struggling with the grief around the disappearance of her daughter and death of her father. She returns to her hometown Silverhöjd and finds out that a boy is missing. Eva begins to look for the similarities between his disappearance and that of her daughters. Over the first season, Eva discovers that the children’s disappearance is tangled with the conflict between those who want to protect the forest and the community that depends on the local timber business Thörnblad Cellulosa. In amongst it all, mythical beings are to be found.

In the second season, we are now two years after in the first one. We get to know Eva and understand how she relates to everything that happened to her in season one: her newfound insight into what is in the forest that is beyond normal, and the trauma with her daughter.

Jordskott was British channel ITV Encore’s highest rated show in 2015 and was just as successful on Swedish broadcaster SVT.

No news has been announced regarding international premieres of the series.
