Continuing what seems to be an ever-lasting success, Rams has won the Golden Angel at the International Film Festival Tofifest in Toruń, Poland.
Tofifest also included a special showcase on Icelandic cinema – screening Paris of the North, Of Horses & Men, 101 Reykjavik, Sparrows, Virgin Mountain, Life in a Fishbowl & Mamma Gógó.
Earlier this year Rams, directed by Grímur Hákonarson, won the Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival. Since then the film has screened as part of the main competition in seven festivals – winning the main prize at six of them. It also screened out of competition in a number of key festivals – including Karlovy Vary and Toronto. Rams is Iceland’s entry for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar and has been selected as one of the 52 films on the European Film Academy’s selection list for the European Film Awards.
