During a press conference in Riga, where the 27th European Film Awards will take place, the European Film Academy and EFA Productions announced the titles of the 50 films on this year’s selection list, the list of films recommended for a nomination for the European Film Awards.  Amongst them were the two Norwegian titles Blind by Eskil Vogt and In Order of Disappearance (Kraftidioten) by Hans Petter Moland. With 31 European countries represented, the Swedish-Norwegian co-production Force Majeure is also in the selection.

3000 members vote

In the coming weeks, the over 3,000 members of the European Film Academy will vote for the nominations in the categories European Film, Director, Actor, Actress and Screenwriter. The nominations will then be announced on 8 November at the Seville European Film Festival in Spain.

Award Show in Riga in December

The 27th European Film Awards with the presentation of the winners – streamed live on www.europeanfilmawards.eu – will take place in Riga on 13 December 2014.
