LevelK boards Sami film for children

The first Sami-inspired film for children is coming, and Danish sales agency LevelK has boarded the film.

Titled Sáve, the original screenplay is a fantasy-adventure drama inspired by Sami mythology. A girl, Sáve, who recently lost her mother under mysterious circumstances, goes on a magical and dangerous journey into the mythical Sami underworld.

Sáve will be produced by Storyline Pictures, who previously produced Hunting Flies (pictured), also sold by LevelK.

Children’s novelist Jens Martin Mienna is developing the script. No director has been announced.

The project is developed with support from International Sami Film Institute and Filmfond Nord.
