Distribution company First Pond Entertainment has picked up the Norwegian documentary Arctic Superstar, ScreenDaily reports.
Directed by Simen Braathen, Arctic Superstar follows indigenous Samí rapper Nils Rune Utsi, known as Slincraze, as he dreams of making a living from his music. He raps in an indigenous language spoken by around 20,000 people, and the documentary highlights important issues in the Samí community.
First Pond Entertainment is a distributor for issue-driven documentaries and narratives depicting underrepresented communities and is based in Los Angeles, USA.
Arctic Superstar will screen next at the Nashville Film Festival in April.
