The San Sebastian Film Festival has announced new films that will be taking part in the Official Competition.
New to the list is Iceland’s Baltasar Kormákur, who will be bringing his latest film, The Oath, to the festival. The Oath stars Kormákur as a father who sets off on a mission to try and pull his daughter away from the world of drugs and petty crime, only to discover that danger can be found in unexpected places.
Kormákur is no stranger to the festival, having brought The Sea (2001) to San Sebastian.
The Oath will be competing against a wide range of European films, including the French film 150 Miligrams, which is directed by Emmanuelle Bercot and stars Danish actress Sidse Babett Knudsen. The film condemns the atrocities of the pharmaceutical industry around with government complacency.
